At Guru our aim is to reduce our impacts on the environment as much as we can… Here are just a few of the areas where we are making an extra special effort:
- All paper used within our office is from sustainable sources – we only buy consumer recycled or from sustainably managed FSC certified forests.
- We do simple things like buying low energy products and switching off lights and equipment when not being used.
- We run an email only policy internally (no post-its or print outs!) and all invoices we send are done electronically.
- We aim to send zero waste to landfill by end 2011 (We currently recycle all plastic, glass, tins, paper and cardboard, although those plastic windows in sandwich boxes cause issues, we try to avoid those.)
- We actively encourage and incentivise Guru employees to live locally and/or work from home when possible. We find that less time on the road means more time making campaigns succeed
Guru endeavour to keep up to date with all relevant legislation and ensure that all our activities comply with environmental and other laws.
We are open to new suggestions so if you have any other ideas or things we should know about we are all ears…
